CHAIRMAN OF SHOOTING STARS, RT. HON. BABATUNDE OLANIYAN LAUDS GSM'S GRASSROOT SPORTS INITIATIVE

The Chairman and Sole Administrator of Shooting Stars Soccer Club fondly referred to as 3SC, Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan AKORO has lauded the Initiative of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde on issues concerning sports in the grassroots in Oyo State.
The Coordinating Director, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr. Jacob Dairo made this known at the distribution of sporting equipment donated by Oyo State Government, in collaboration with Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) to 82 primary Schools held at the Board’s headquarters, on Tuesday, 15th of August, 2023.
The 3SC Chairman, who is a former Deputy Speaker at the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akoro in a message made available to newsmen early on Thursday Morning acknowledged that in gaining success in any facet, it is important to begin from the bottom to the top. The message read in part:
"Our leader and boss, Engr. Seyi MAKINDE, The Executive Governor of Oyo State has proven himself yet again by being a man of great initiative as he has always been. We have been enjoying his positive input for over 4 years now and he keeps getting better.
"His recent initiative of empowering the Sporting Sector from Basic School's level is laudable because in the next few years, the wards will have gotten accustomed to the usage of the equipments provided such that by the time they go professional, the equipments won't look strange to them.
"In the Developed communities, it is evident that the successes enjoyed by sportsmen in either individual of group sports did not just arrive by chance or magic, it is as a result of years of constant practice with the right equipment and tutelage. With this movement by His Excellency, there will be no surprise if in the next few years, the Oyo State Sporting Sector will be in an enviable position because it would have paid its dues and that will be credited to GSM's positive initiative.
"Personally, I appreciate the kind gesture of His Excellency toward making the Sporting Department of Oyo State Great again and I believe that this initiative will achieve the desired result, guiding Oyo State to the path of Sustainable Development #OmiTuntun2.0."
