Today, February 14th, I choose to celebrate not just a friend, but a brother whose life journey continues to inspire everyone privileged to know him, Hon. Ibraheem Sulayman Olaosebikan, fondly known as IBO LOJU EGBEDA.
Astute, intellectual, and deeply grounded, he is a researcher, a freethinker, a banker, a scientist, and a recovery specialist whose story speaks loudly about resilience and determination. From humble beginnings in Yemetu, Ibadan, he has steadily climbed the ladder of success through sheer dedication, vision, and hard work.
Our paths crossed (fully, forget the likely meetings we had during our teenage) at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, where we both studied Chemistry. Those formative years shaped our ambitions and opened doors that later led us into the banking industry. Together we navigated the demanding world of international financial institutions, where his brilliance, discipline, and leadership eventually saw him rise to become my superior, a role he carried with wisdom and fairness that earned respect from all around him.
True to his entrepreneurial spirit, Hon. Olaosebikan later stepped away from corporate life to establish the GREAT IBSOL Consultancy, a thriving business offering services that range from loan recovery and business development to event planning. Through this, he has continued to empower individuals and organizations, proving that success is most meaningful when it uplifts others.
Beyond professional accomplishments, he is a true Pan-African who places humanity above division. Though a practicing Muslim, he is not defined solely by religion, but by his ability to live peacefully and respectfully with all people, embracing shared values and mutual understanding.
As a family man and a leader, he remains bold in convictions and sincere in relationships. Recently, his declaration to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly, Egbeda State Constituency, came as no surprise to those who know his passion for service. Having journeyed with him through different stages of life, I can confidently attest that he is a man of integrity, competence, and compassion, which are qualities that would make him an excellent representative.
On this special day, I celebrate his life, his achievements, and the values he embodies: resilience, intellect, courage, and humanity. May this new chapter bring greater heights, renewed strength, and fulfilled aspirations.
Happy Birthday, my worthy friend and brother. Your story continues to inspire us all.
