TRIBUTE TO SEYI ACOLYTE(SA); MRS OYIN TIJANI

I have tried to write several times and been unable to before now cos I became overcome with emotion. Its been 3 or 4 days but still appears like a nightmare all will wake up from

From her buxom shape to her sunny disposition,her laughter and mischievous childlike smile, good cheer radiates wherever she is.I call her "Oyin no dull moment"!

To know Oyin is to love her.Oyin was a free spirit,a cheerful ray of sunshine who brought a smile to the faces of all who encountered her

She was extremely responsible,self-motivated, always volunteered first for the toughest assignments( she drove my branded Sienna all the way from Ibarapa to Ibadan!),she would never complain whether you asked her to sit on top of,under or behind the JAC truck.

So you can have an idea of what this pocket of sunshine was like: She was a Ward Woman Leader from Ido LG and had been telling her fellow Seyi Acolytes and people in my office not to eat at least 2 days before His Excellency visited Ido cos she planned to host all.

On hearing that H.E had cancelled the campaigns due to ensuing violence, can you believe this young lady brought coolers of food to my office in Agodi GRA all the way from Ido later that day, so much so that all who stepped foot in my office that day ate to their hearts content? That was vintage Oyin in her element. She hated to see anyone unhappy and would do everything possible to get anyone downcast to cheer up

The most commendable part of her for me was her devotion to her children.She lived and died to make a better life for her four children. All her hardwork, hustles, struggles, even errors in judgement and mistakes were all in order to give her children a better life than she had

 

Men of God usually say the best of us are the ones who God takes away early. Oyin was a ray of sunshine, an angel in human form sent amongst us to put smiles on our faces for a short season.From Irepo till the last external stop in Ibarapa,she was an integral part of the Women Directorate Team enthusiastically welcoming His Excellency to his engagements on the campaign trail and putting smiles on our faces throughout the campaigns

My heartfelt prayer is that God forgives her shortcomings, grants her a place of rest,enable her crown jewels; her children attain the accomplishments she was never able to and grant all of us her loved ones the fortitude to bear an irreparable loss

Adieu OYIN GIDI, we love you but God loves you more.May Allah (SWT) grant you Aljanat Firdaus
