The Popular hip-hop and modern Afrobeats artiste, Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, lost his mother, Jane Balogun on Friday.

Balogun’s death was confirmed by the artiste’s manager, Sunday Aare, who said Wizkid’s mother died in the early hours of Friday at 1.30 am. 

Here are 10 things to know about Wizkid’s mother:

1. Her full name was Jane Dolapo Balogun.

2. She hailed from the Shitta-Bey family in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.

3. Balogun played a significant role in WizKid’s life, supporting his musical aspirations from a young age.

4. She encouraged WizKid’s interest in music by buying him instruments and supporting his participation in the church choir.

5. WizKid has often cited his mother as his biggest inspiration and source of strength in his journey to success.

6. She raised WizKid and his siblings as a single mother, showing resilience and determination.

7. She obtained a degree in Social Sciences from the University of Lagos.

8. Balogun was known for her entrepreneurial ventures and commitment to her family’s well-being.
