GOVERNOR MAKINDE APPROVES AUGUST 20TH AS THE TRADITIONAL ISESE DAY AS HE DECLARES MONDAY A PUBLIC HOLIDAY

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde, has officially designated the 20th of August as “Isese Day” in Oyo State, a tradition to be upheld annually.

This announcement is outlined in a circular letter issued by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Prof. Olanike Adeyemo.



The letter states:

“His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, has graciously approved the 20th of August, starting from the year 2023, as ‘Isese Day.’ This day will serve as a commemoration of the Traditional Religious festivity.

Furthermore, the inaugural celebration of Isese Day in the State will be observed as a Public Holiday on Monday, August 21, 2023.

Governor Makinde earnestly urges all citizens to utilize this occasion to offer prayers for the State’s prosperity, unity, and stability, as well as for the wellbeing of our nation.
