World Disability Day: Oyo JONAPWD Celebrates Disability Day in Grand Style... Gets Huge Support and Donation from D.G OYSAPWD, Barr. Adekanbi

Yesterday 9th of December, 2024, the Oyo State Chapter of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disability (JONAPWD) organized a day event to commemorate the 'World Disability Day'. The programme was spearheaded by the State JONAPWD Excos, led by the Chairman, Hon. Ajulo Femi. The event took place at JDPC Hall, Basorun, Ibadan.

The event witnessed the presence and blessings of Noted Figures, bigwigs and the creme-dela-creme within and without the walls of Persons with Disability such as:

- Barrister Ayodele Adekanbi, the Director-General of Oyo State Agency for Persons with Disability

- Evang. Olu Kayode J.P, the First JONAPWD Chairman in Oyo State

- Mrs. Funke Adegoke, the Immediate Past Oyo JONAPWD Chairman

- Comrade Ojeniyi Olufemi, the Cluster Chairman, Nigeria Association of the Blind

- Dr. Tolulope Aluko, the Cluster Chairman, Nigeria Associationof the Blind. Morufu Yusuf, the Cluster Chairman, Nigeria Association of the Deaf

- Imam Ariyibi Abdulfatai, Cluster Chairman, Albinoism Association of Nigeria

- State Excos of the JONAPWD 






The Programme was hosted by Com. Musa Akinsawe, the State Assistant Secretary of JONAPWD who performed excellently as the Compere.

The Opening Prayers were said by Com. Ojeniyi Olufemi after which the Guests were introduced by the MC.


The Chairman of Association, HON. FEMI AJULO welcomed all the Stakeholders to the 2024 World Disability Day and gave his opening speech too.

The Guests Speakers were introduced and immediately after the Goodwill Message from Key Stakeholders, the first lecture of the day was delivered under the Theme: "Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disability for an inclusive and sustainable future" by BARR. ADENIKE IBITARA. Hitherto, the first question and answer session in respect to the First Lecture was anchored by the Oyo State JONAPWD Vice Chairman 1, MR. CHUKS.





The programme proceeded when a symposium was held by the Oyo JONAPWD Secretary, MRS. ROSELINE ONIYIDE who delivered the topic "Awareness about Sexual Reproductive and Health Services for Persons with Disability". This led to the Second Lecture of the day, held by Mr. JIDE BAMGBOSE under the original theme as the first speaker while the following Question and Answer Session was held by the Oyo JONAPWD Vice-Chairman 2, Dr. Akangbe.

The Closing remarks were said by the Immediate Past Oyo State Chairman of JONAPWD, Mrs. Funke Adegoke before the closing prayers.



One of the highlights of the day was when leading leaders led by the indefatigable Barr. Ayodele Adekanbi donated cheerfully and freely to the Association. The claim is the Stakeholders are impressed with what the organization is achieving and that the direction JONAPWD is moving is the right one which they should keep maintaining.
