Former Shooting Stars Boss, Rt. Hon. Babatunde Olaniyan Congratulates Hon. Fola Don, PDP By-Election Candidate || Hails the State Appointments of BIBIRE, Taiwo Salami, Omojobiiro & Salami De-Bomba

The erstwhile Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) and former Deputy Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Babatunde David Olaniyan, fondly known as Hon. AKORO, has congratulated Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON (Fola Don) on his emergence as the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-Election.

Hon. AKORO described Hon. Fola Don’s candidacy as a reflection of his unwavering dedication and outstanding service in previous positions — notably as a State Honourable representing Ibadan North Constituency 1 at the Oyo State House of Assembly, and as the Deputy Chief of Staff to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. He expressed confidence that Hon. Fola Don’s track record and commitment to public service will resonate with the electorate.

He prayed for the PDP’s success at the polls and for Hon. Fola Don to emerge victorious as the next Representative of Ibadan North at the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

In a related development, Hon. AKORO also extended heartfelt felicitations to the illustrious sons of Ibadan North Local Government recently appointed to strategic positions by Governor Seyi Makinde:

Hon. Olaniyan noted that these appointments are well-deserved recognitions and serve as clear evidence that Governor Makinde remains a rewarder of hard work, loyalty, and dedication to public service.

He concluded by offering prayers for the appointees’ success in their new roles, expressing optimism that they will deliver impactful service that contributes to the progress of Ibadan North and Oyo State at large.

The foremost monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after spending a year on the throne.  The demise of Oba Olakulehin, born July 5, 1935, is coming barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.  Oba Olakulehin received the staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr.
