We heartily congratulate Hon. Fola Oyekunle (Hon. Don) on his emergence as the consensus candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for the August 16th by-election in Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

While we all knew that only one candidate could eventually emerge, the process that led to this decision was one of dialogue, maturity, and mutual respect. The other aspirants have not only shown political wisdom, but have also graciously pledged to work hand-in-hand with the chosen candidate to ensure a resounding victory for the PDP at the polls.

We also extend our deepest appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for once again proving himself to be a talk-and-do leader, a man of equity, fairness, and inclusion. Through his magnanimity, all aspirants have been promised meaningful appointments and roles in government — ensuring that no one aspired in vain. This singular act has not only calmed tensions, but has made the reconciliation process smooth and effective.

As we move into the final stretch toward the August 16th by-election, we issue this fair but firm reminder:

👉🏽 Every party member, across all tendencies and loyalties, must now unite and work for the success of our candidate. Victory is a collective effort, and the benefits of this government will be shared by all — but only if we all contribute to its success.

👉🏾Likewise, we urge the followers of the victorious candidate to remain magnanimous in victory. Carry everyone along. Let no one feel left behind. The strength of the PDP lies in its unity, and everyone has a role to play in our continued success.

Let us be united in purpose, united in strategy, and united in victory.

Finally, we congratulate the entire PDP family in Ibadan North Local Government. Truly, we are the real winners. This is not just the triumph of one candidate, but a celebration of party unity, discipline, and collective progress.
