Ibadan, Oyo State – [7th July, 2025]

It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt reverence that I, Alhaji Chief Raaji Ramoni Abiola, Mogaji of Ile Sado – Odoye/Alabata, on behalf of the entire SADO FAMILY, extend our condolences on the passing of our highly respected monarch, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

This moment marks the end of a significant chapter in the storied history of Ibadan. The Olubadan was not only a traditional ruler; he was a father figure, a symbol of royal dignity, and a bridge between the ancient heritage of our people and the demands of modern leadership. Under his reign, Ibadan witnessed relative peace, cultural pride, and a renewal of traditional values that bind us as a people.

The late Kabiyesi will be remembered for his wise leadership, inclusive style, and unshakable commitment to justice and development. He led with humility, ruling not from a place of distant authority, but from an abiding love for the people of Ibadanland. His presence at community functions, his open-door policy to all levels of leadership, and his consistent support for the council of Mogajis are testaments to the kind of royal father he was.

We have lost a true symbol of unity, wisdom, and cultural excellence. His passing leaves a vacuum that will not be easily filled, but his legacy gives us the courage to continue building a better Ibadan. As a Mogaji and as a son of the soil, I am deeply pained by this loss, but I remain grateful to God for the impactful years Kabiyesi spent with us.

The SADO Family joins the Olubadan-in-Council, the entire Ibadan traditional institution, residents of Ibadan, and Yoruba sons and daughters across the globe in mourning this colossal loss.

As we grieve, we also celebrate a life of service and legacy — a legacy that shall live on in the annals of Ibadan history and in the hearts of all who encountered Kabiyesi’s warmth and wisdom.

May the Almighty grant our departed monarch eternal rest and may Ibadanland continue to be blessed with wise, noble, and peace-loving leadership.

Sun re o, Kabiyesi.

The crown mourns, but your legacy lives on.

Signed:
