A renowned stalwart of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Olusoji Olusegun Alade, fondly known as Hon. SOJ, has been honoured with an Award of Recognition by a reputable institution located within the University of Ibadan (BODE AMAO SCHOOLS, owned by the University of Ibadan Women Society). The award was presented over the past weekend in recognition of his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and philanthropy.

Hon. Alade, who was crowned Champion of Ibadan Culture 2025 and currently serves as the Social Secretary of the illustrious Omo Aj’Orosun Club, has long been admired for his dedication to the upliftment of society. His impactful contributions span critical sectors including education, healthcare, security, and overall community advancement across Ibadan North and Oyo State at large.

Speaking at the award ceremony, Hon. SOJ, Who's also the CEO of RoyalDiadem Emma and Faith Ltd., expressed profound gratitude to the institution for acknowledging his efforts. “It is heartwarming to know that the little we do for our communities is being noticed and appreciated. I dedicate this award to the resilient people of Ibadan North who inspire my actions daily,” he said.

In his remarks, he used the platform to make a passionate call to residents and students of the University of Ibadan, The Polytechnic Ibadan, and the wider Ibadan North constituency to participate actively in the upcoming Ibadan North Federal Constituency By-Election. He urged them to support a candidate who will continue the progressive legacies of His Excellency Governor Seyi Makinde and the late representative of Ibadan North, Rt. Hon. Akinremi Jagaban; Hon. Fola Oyekunle DON.



“Let us all come together to vote for a candidate who will not only uphold but also expand on the impactful legacies of Governor Seyi Makinde and our dear late Hon. Jagaban,” Hon. SOJ stated. “That individual is none other than Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle DON, the flagbearer the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).”





The award and Hon. SOJ’s accompanying remarks have further solidified his reputation as a dedicated community builder, a bridge between tradition and modern governance, and a passionate advocate for progressive leadership within the PDP fold.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when a driver, allegedly passing through a one-way street, was pursued by police officers. The foremost monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after spending a year on the throne.  The demise of Oba Olakulehin, born July 5, 1935, is coming barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.  Oba Olakulehin received the staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr.
