Ibadan North PDP Chairman, Comrade Mustapha, Urges Ibadan North Residents to Come Out En Masse for Hon. Fola DON in Forthcoming By-Election

The Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government, Alhaji Comrade S.A. Mustapha, has issued a passionate call to the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency to turn out in large numbers and cast their votes for the PDP candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, fondly known as Hon. DON, in the crucial August 16th, 2025 House of Representatives by-election.

Speaking with Media Men at a high-powered stakeholder engagement with party leaders, community elders, youth representatives, and women mobilizers from across the constituency, Comrade Mustapha said that the election represents not just a contest between candidates, but a choice between progress and stagnation. He maintained that Hon. DON’s emergence will further solidify the gains already made under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose good works in infrastructure renewal, education, healthcare, and youth empowerment are visible across Oyo State.

“This election is about consolidating on Governor Seyi Makinde’s achievements and bringing more of those dividends home to Ibadan North. Hon. Fola DON is a man of capacity, a man who knows the terrain, understands the needs of our people, and has the political will to deliver,” Comrade Mustapha declared.

Highlighting the candidate’s pedigree, Comrade Mustapha described Hon. DON as young, vibrant, tested, and trusted. He recalled that Hon. DON had served meritoriously as a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, where he sponsored and supported impactful legislation, and later as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Oyo State, where he played a strategic role in governance and policy implementation.

Comrade Mustapha further stated that Hon. DON is accessible to the people, deeply rooted in grassroots politics, and committed to ensuring that every ward in Ibadan North feels the presence of quality representation. He urged constituents to reject apathy, mobilize their families, friends, and neighbors, and show up at the polling units in their numbers.

“We must protect our votes, resist intimidation, and ensure that our voices are heard loud and clear on election day. This is our opportunity to elect a representative who will carry our hopes and aspirations to the National Assembly. By voting for Hon. Fola DON, we are voting for a brighter, more prosperous future for Ibadan North,” Comrade Mustapha added.

He reaffirmed the PDP’s readiness to run an issue-based, people-focused campaign that speaks to the real challenges of the people—job creation, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, education, and security. According to him, with Hon. Fola DON as the next House of Representatives member, Ibadan North will enjoy the dividends of democracy in greater measure.
