PDP Stalwart, Hon. SOJ, Hosts Interfaith Fasting and Prayer for Victory of Hon. Fola DON Ahead of Ibadan North By-Election

A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Olusoji Olusegun Alade (SOJ), in collaboration with the Ibadan North Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade Onala, on Wednesday, 13th August 2025, organized a joint day of fasting and prayer.






The spiritually-charged event, conducted by the League of Imams and Alfas of Ibadan North Local Government in conjunction with selected church leaders from Ibadan North Chapter of C.A.N (as suggested by the Current Honourable Councillors of Ibadan North Local Government), was dedicated to seeking divine intervention and projecting victory for the PDP candidate, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (fondly called Hon. DON) ahead of the crucial August 16th By-Election for Ibadan North Federal Constituency.





Hon. SOJ's commitment to fostering religious harmony is well-documented. During the 2025 Ramadan, he sponsored the League of Imams and Alfas’ 30-Day Ramadan Lecture, aired on Omoluabi 87.7 FM, Mokola, Ibadan, coordinated by Hon. Ibrahim Faira, Councillor for Ward 6. Similarly, he has consistently supported the Christian community by sponsoring CAN Sunday Messages, broadcast every Sunday from 3pm–4pm on the same station (still airing till December, 2025).

The interfaith fasting and prayer session broke religious barriers, creating an atmosphere of unity and shared purpose. Religious leaders from both faiths prayed fervently for Hon. DON’s emergence as the winner of the by-election.



Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, a front-runner in the race, has pledged to consolidate and expand the good works of His Excellency, Gov. Seyi Makinde, if elected. His impressive track record as a former House of Assembly member and immediate past Deputy Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor uniquely positions him to represent the most sought-after Federal Constituency in Oyo State - Ibadan North. His absence, alongside that of the Council Chairman, Hon. Olufade was unavoidable, as they were at the Official Commissioning of the Prince Akinremi Jagaban's G.R.A, which was constructed by the Oyo State Government, in honor of the late immediate past Representative of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban. Thus, they were ably represented by Hon. Olusoji Alade SOJ and Hon. Ibrahim Faira

It is also worth noting that Hon. SOJ has sponsored various campaign billboards to boost Hon. DON’s visibility across the constituency.

The PDP remains confident that the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency will turn out in large numbers on August 16th to vote and elect Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle (DON) as their next Representative in the House of Representatives.
