The Special Assistant to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, on Ibadan North Federal Constituency and Ex-Officio 1 of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Julian Àríké Nwachukwu, has extended warm birthday felicitations to a prominent Chieftain of the PDP and the Member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Sunday, affectionately known as DON.

Hon. Oyekunle, a respected grassroots mobilizer and legislative asset to Oyo State, previously served as the Lawmaker representing Ibadan North Constituency 1 in the Oyo State House of Assembly. He was also the immediate Past Deputy Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor, H.E. Engr. Seyi Makinde 

Speaking glowingly in a message released through her Media Unit, Hon. Julian praised the celebrant for his unwavering dedication to service and humanity.

She wrote in part:

“It is always a delight to celebrate a leader whose impact is felt beyond politics. Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don is a compassionate figure whose influence has touched lives within and outside Ibadan North. His generosity is not just talked about, it is visible in how he consistently supports those in need, often without fanfare.”

“You are a man whose presence brings blessings to many. Few years ago, I prayed to God to elevate you for the tremendous work you invested in Omituntun 2.0. Today, we give God the glory because that prayer has become reality. You truly deserve every good gift that this new year will bring.”

She added further:

“As you continue to represent our beloved Federal Constituency with dignity and excellence, may joy never depart from your life. May the Almighty God continue to strengthen you. Happy birthday once again, Hon. Don. I wish you long life, prosperity, and unending fulfillment. Àsèyí Sàmódún.”

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when a driver, allegedly passing through a one-way street, was pursued by police officers. The foremost monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after spending a year on the throne.  The demise of Oba Olakulehin, born July 5, 1935, is coming barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.  Oba Olakulehin received the staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr.
