Aare Latosa Political Head, Akeem Ayoade, Distributes Food Relief Packages to Over 100 Widows

The Political Head/Vice Chairman of Aare Latosa Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akeem Ayoade, has distributed food relief packages to over 100 widows across the council area as part of efforts aimed at alleviating hardship and reducing hunger at the grassroots level.

The humanitarian gesture, which took place on Monday at the council secretariat, attracted party leaders, council officials, community stakeholders, and beneficiaries from different wards within the LCDA.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Head of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Dr. Idowu Sunday Igwe, commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, and the Political Head of Aare-Latosa LCDA, Hon. Akeem Ayoade, for what he described as productive and people-oriented governance at the grassroots level in the Pacesetter State.

Dr. Idowu noted that democracy remains the best form of government because it is designed to serve the interests and welfare of the people. According to him, the present administration in Oyo State has continued to demonstrate commitment to good governance through impactful programmes and initiatives targeted at improving the living conditions of residents.

He further explained that human needs, such as food, clothing, and shelter, remain essential to societal well-being, stressing that the distribution of food items was timely and necessary, considering the current economic realities facing many Nigerians.

"The essence of today's programme is to provide food support for women and vulnerable residents across the local council vulnerable residents across the local council development area to ease their burden and improve their welfare," he said.

In his remarks, the Political Head/Vice Chairman of Aare Latosa LCDA, Hon. Akeem Ayoade, appreciated Governor Seyi Makinde and the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, for their continued support towards grassroots development and people-centred governance.

Hon. Ayoade stated that the initiative was designed to complement the efforts of the state government in addressing poverty and food insecurity among residents.

He added that the council leadership remains committed to policies and programmes that will enhance food sufficiency, reduce hunger, and improve the standard of living of the people at the grassroots.

Hon. Sulaiman Ajao, popularly known as "Moon Light," lauded Hon. Akeem Ayoade for the kind gesture and his commitment towards alleviating poverty within the council area.

He described the intervention as timely and impactful, while urging other political office holders and well-meaning individuals to emulate the humanitarian spirit demonstrated by the Aare Latosa Political Head.
