IWD2025: Makinde's Aide, Hon. Julian Nwachukwu Felicitates Women Worldwide; Hails Makinde's efforts in Promoting Women; Gears Women toward "Accelerating Action"

Today, we celebrate the unwavering spirit and unrelenting efforts of women worldwide as we commemorate the 2025 International Women's Day. As the Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Ibadan North Federal Constituency, I am honored to stand in solidarity with the women of Oyo State and beyond.

This year's theme, "Accelerate Action," resonates deeply with me, as it underscores the imperative of expediting our collective efforts to achieve gender equality. As a representative of the people, I pledge to continue advocating for policies and programs that support women's economic empowerment, education, and healthcare.

In Oyo State, we have made strides in promoting women's empowerment, but there is still much work to be done. I commend Governor Makinde's administration for its efforts in promoting gender equality and empowering women in the state. However, we must acknowledge that women's empowerment is not merely a moral imperative, but an economic and social one. When women thrive, families prosper, communities flourish, and nations grow.

As we celebrate International Women's Day, let us remember that accelerating action requires a collective effort. It demands that we work together – men and women, government and civil society, traditional and religious leaders – to create a world where women and girls can thrive.

So let us recommit ourselves to this noble cause. Let us accelerate action to achieve gender equality, and let us do so with urgency, passion, and perseverance. Together, we can create a brighter future for all women and girls in Oyo State and beyond.

Happy International Women's Day!
