Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club Mourns the Passing of Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I, Oniroko of Iroko

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our esteemed member, Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I, the revered Oniroko of Iroko, who departed this life in the early hours of Friday, May 30, 2025, at the age of 64. The Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club extends its deepest condolences to the immediate family of the deceased monarch, the citizens of Iroko Town, and the entire Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club family.


A LEGACY OF UNITY, TRADITION, AND PROGRESS

Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I, was a shining example of leadership and dedication to his people. Born on March 9, 1961, he ascended to the throne on February 4, 2011, and reigned for 14 years, leaving an indelible mark on Iroko, Akinyele Local Government, Ibadan land, and Oyo State at large. His commitment to preserving customs and pursuing development will be deeply missed.


A TRIBUTE TO A VISIONARY LEADER

As a prominent member of the Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club, Oba Olasunkanmi Abioye Opeola, Kurunloju I, embodied the values of unity, tradition, and progress. His visionary leadership and tireless efforts to improve the lives of his people have inspired countless individuals. We remember his remarkable achievements, from promoting social welfare and economic growth to enhancing infrastructure in Iroko Town.
