Birthday: "You're a reliable shoulder to lean on for my boss", Makinde's Aide, Julian Nwachukwu fetes Oyo First Lady

In the spirit of celebrations, today is the birthday of a remarkable woman, Engr. Mrs. Olufunke Makinde, the First Lady of Oyo State and Hon. Julian Àríké Nwachukwu, Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Ibadan North Federal Constituency has hitherto extended warm felicitations to her on her special day.

"As a good mother and great shoulder to lean on for our caring Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, Engr. Mrs. Olufunke Makinde has consistently demonstrated a good heart towards the women and people of Oyo State," Hon. Julian said. "Her commitment to good governance and support for her husband's vision has been exemplary."

Hon. Julian further described the First Lady as a pillar of strength for the Governor, ensuring smooth governance and promoting the welfare of Oyo State people.

"On behalf of the good people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency, I wish Engr. Mrs. Olufunke Makinde a happy birthday," Hon. Julian added. "We pray for more life, good health, happiness, and prosperity in Jesus' name. May she continue to be a source of inspiration and support to her husband and the people of Oyo State."

The people of Ibadan North Federal Constituency join Hon. Julian in celebrating the First Lady's special day, wishing her all the best and many more years of life.

Just In: (Pictorial) Tragedy Strikes Ibadan || Police Stray Bullet Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Student Published by Samuel Toba-Olumide   Ibadan, Oyo State - A somber mood has engulfed the Alakia-Welfare-Airport Ibadan community following a tragic incident on Airport Road, Alakia, where a 17-year-old student lost his life in a hail of bullets fired by police officers. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when a driver, allegedly passing through a one-way street, was pursued by police officers. In the ensuing chase, the officers opened fire, and a stray bullet struck another vehicle carrying the teenager, who was on his way to school to sit for a WAEC exam. The foremost monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after spending a year on the throne.  The demise of Oba Olakulehin, born July 5, 1935, is coming barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.  Oba Olakulehin received the staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr.
