Celebrating The Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club Week: A Pillar of Ibadan's Cultural Heritage

The Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club, one of the foremost Ibadan clubs, has been a stalwart in preserving the cultural and social heritage of Ibadan land since its inception. Comprising Ibadan indigenes, the club boasts a membership of esteemed individuals, including kings, high chiefs, past governors, senators, members of the House of Representatives, directors-general, permanent secretaries, businessmen, and other notable personalities.

With its rich history and commitment to promoting Ibadan's cultural values, the Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club has become a respected institution in the community. The club's membership is a testament to its influence and reputation, featuring the cream de la cream of society.

2025 ỌMỌ AJ'OROSUN CLUB DAY CELEBRATION 

The Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club is set to celebrate its 2025 Club Day, a week-long extravaganza scheduled to take place from June 20th to June 28th, 2025. The celebration promises to be an exciting and enriching experience for members, their families, and the broader community.

PROGRAMME OF EVENTS

The 2025 Ọmọ Aj'Orosun Club Day Celebration features a packed schedule of events, including:

* Friday, June 20th, 2025:
    - Flag Off News Conference: 10:00 am at the Clubhouse
    - Jumat Service: 1:00 pm at the Central Mosque, Oja'ba, Ibadan

* Saturday, June 21st, 2025:
    - Health Walk: 8:00 am, followed by light refreshments

* Sunday, June 22nd, 2025:
- Church Service: 9:00 am at the Anglican Church, Ajia, Ibadan

*Wednesday, June 25th, 2025:
 - Cultural (Àsà) Day: 1:00 pm at the Clubhouse

* Thursday, June 26th, 2025:
- Visitation to the Olubadan Palace: 1:00 pm

* Friday, June 27th, 2025:
    - Visitation to the Less Privileged Homes: 11:00 am (Members' Wives and others)
    - Sporting Events Roundup

* Saturday, June 28th, 2025:
    - Security and Safety Talk: 12:00 noon
    - Special Grant Awards Presentation: 1:00 pm
    - Presentation of Merit Awards: 1:30 pm
    - Donations of Chairs/Benches to Primary Health Care in the 11 Local Government Areas of Ibadanland (A Community Development Project to Complement the Government in Ensuring Convenience and Comforts for those who patronize the Health Centers: 2:00 pm
    - Entertainment and Funfair: 2:30 pm

Just In: (Pictorial) Tragedy Strikes Ibadan || Police Stray Bullet Claims Life of 17-Year-Old Student Published by Samuel Toba-Olumide   Ibadan, Oyo State - A somber mood has engulfed the Alakia-Welfare-Airport Ibadan community following a tragic incident on Airport Road, Alakia, where a 17-year-old student lost his life in a hail of bullets fired by police officers. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred when a driver, allegedly passing through a one-way street, was pursued by police officers. In the ensuing chase, the officers opened fire, and a stray bullet struck another vehicle carrying the teenager, who was on his way to school to sit for a WAEC exam. The foremost monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after spending a year on the throne.  The demise of Oba Olakulehin, born July 5, 1935, is coming barely two days after celebrating his 90th birthday.  Oba Olakulehin received the staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr.
