Birthday: “A True Son of Ibadanland, A Champion of Compassion” || Hon. SOJ Hails G.M, Oyo Housing Estate, Esv. Toyeshe Lawal

In a moving tribute that blended admiration, affection and civic pride, Hon. Olusoji Olusegun Alade, widely known as Hon. SOJ, The Social Secretary of Ọmọ Aj’orosun Club and Champion of Ibadan Culture 2025, felicitates the birthday of the Omo Aj'Orosun Club’s Public Relations Officer and General Manager of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, Esv. Sharafadeen Toyeshe Lawal.

From the first sentence of his tribute, Hon. SOJ made clear that this was no ordinary birthday note. “Esv. Toyeshe is not only a fellow member of Ọmọ Aj'orosun Club, he is a peripheral and dutiful son of the soil, a big brother whose compass is always set to service,” he said. Those words framed the tone for a celebration that honoured Lawal’s public service, cultural devotion and personal generosity.

Hon. SOJ described Esv. Lawal as a Civil/Public servant whose leadership is measured by action rather than applause. “He watches the backs of others; he lifts quietly so those he helps may rise with dignity,” Hon. SOJ recalled. As General Manager of the Oyo State Housing Corporation, Lawal’s role touches community development and housing policy, responsibilities that demand competence, patience and a steady moral centre. According to Hon. SOJ, it is exactly this steadiness that sets him apart.

As Champion of Ibadan Culture 2025, Hon. SOJ’s appreciation carries cultural weight. He praised Lawal as “a true son of Ibadanland, bold, brave and suave; a custodian of the city’s spirit and a bridge between tradition and modern service.” That blend of cultural pride and administrative competence, Hon. SOJ argues, is what the city needs: leaders who are rooted in local values while capable of navigating contemporary governance.

Intermittently pausing to share personal reflections, Hon. SOJ painted Lawal as more than an office holder. “He has a good heart; he is compassionate in ways that cannot always be posted on social media,” he said. The tribute highlighted Lawal’s warmth, humility and the protective attitude he shows toward colleagues, friends and the wider community. These aren’t merely flattering adjectives; in Hon. SOJ’s telling, they are the lived reality of a man who leads by example.

Hon. SOJ also drew attention to Lawal’s civic footprint beyond government work. “His leadership extends into service organizations where character is tested by deeds: he is the current President of The Lions Club, Akobo District,” Hon. SOJ noted. This role underscores Lawal’s commitment to humanitarian causes and community outreach, reinforcing the portrait of a public figure who pairs professional duty with voluntary service.

"On behalf of family, friends and associates, we celebrate a true Champion, not because he seeks the spotlight, but because he refuses to let others walk alone,” Hon. Alade declared. The message conveyed both personal affection and public recognition: Lawal’s life is a service to people and place.

Hon. SOJ’s tribute reads like a short civic sermon, a reminder that leadership is as much character as it is position. In celebrating Esv. Sharafadeen Toyeshe Lawal, he celebrates the values of Ibadanland itself: courage, compassion and communal loyalty. To borrow Hon. SOJ’s own words one final time, “We celebrate not only the man, but the spirit he brings to Ibadan, steady, generous and true.”

Happy Birthday, Esv. Sharafadeen Toyeshe Lawal. May your days be filled with continued strength, service and the warm company of those you uplift.
