It was a moment of reflection, unity, and heartfelt prayers as the Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government and Political Head of Aare-Latosa LCDA, Hon. Akeem Ayoade, hosted the 8th Day Fidau Prayer for his beloved father, the late Alhaji Muili Olalekan Ayoade.

The solemn event, held on Friday, March 27th, 2026, at the Olunde area of Ibadan, drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries, political associates, family members, and well-wishers who came together to pay their last respects and offer prayers for the repose of the departed soul.

The atmosphere was filled with reverence as Islamic clerics led prayers, seeking Allah’s mercy and forgiveness for the deceased, while also asking for strength and comfort for the family he left behind.

Among the notable personalities present to honour Hon. Ayoade were his immediate boss, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade; the House of Representatives member representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle; and the Ibadan North Chief of Staff, Hon. Hamdy Mustapha.

Also in attendance were PDP stalwart Hon. Jossy Lad; Hon. Yisahu Aderibigbe (PopulistNews Publisher), the Head of Media Unit to Ibadan North Council Chairman, all Executive Vice Chairmen across the Ibadan zone, the E.A on Security Matters to the Oyo State Governor, Hon. Kabiru Salami, and members of the legislative arm of Ibadan North Local Government led by the House Leader, Hon. Taiwo Adebola.

The event also witnessed the presence of friends from the diaspora, management staff of Ibadan North Local Government, as well as officials from Aare-Latosa LCDA, all standing in solidarity with Hon. Ayoade during this period of mourning.

In his brief but emotional appreciation, Hon. Akeem Ayoade expressed deep gratitude to everyone who took time out to attend the Fidau prayer and support his family in their time of grief.

"I sincerely appreciate every one of you for coming to honour my late father and for standing by us in this moment of loss. May Almighty Allah reward you abundantly for your kindness and grant you safe journey back to your various destinations.”

The gathering was not only a farewell to a revered patriarch but also a testament to the strong bonds of community, leadership, and compassion that define Ibadan’s sociopolitical landscape.

As prayers continue for the late Alhaji Muili Olalekan Ayoade, his legacy of family values and impact within his community remains fondly remembered.
