On Thursday, 23rd of July, 2026, There was an atmosphere of excitement, hope, and renewed political energy in Ward 1, Ibadan North Local Government, as party faithful, community leaders, women, and youths gathered to receive one of their own, Mr. Gbadebo Taiwo Ismail, popularly known as "Perfect," during his official declaration of interest to contest for the position of Councillor representing Ward 1 on the platform of the Allied People's Movement (APM).

Several party leaders who spoke during the event commended Gbadebo Taiwo Ismail for his consistency and dedication to the growth of the Allied People's Movement in Ward 1.

The Immediate Past Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Laolu Akindele, described him as a dependable grassroots mobilizer.

"Perfect has remained committed to this party through difficult and favourable times. He understands the needs of our people because he has always been among them. We believe he possesses the character and capacity to represent Ward 1 effectively."

The former Aare-Latosa LCDA Administrator called on party members to remain united and work collectively toward ensuring victory during the forthcoming election.

The declaration also witnessed overwhelming support from young people across the ward.

Speaking during the gathering, one of the Youths, said the declaration inspired confidence among the younger generation.

"Our Oga, Perfect, has always carried the youths along. He listens, he relates with us, and he has shown genuine concern for our future. Today, we are proud to stand with him because we believe he will deliver."

Another youth, described the aspirant as a bridge between experience and youthful energy.

"We need leaders who understand our challenges and are willing to work with everyone. Perfect represents hope, accessibility, and unity. We are ready to mobilize support across every part of Ward 1."

Beyond politics, the event reflected the unity and solidarity that exist within the APM family in Ward 1. Women groups offered prayers for the aspirant, while elders encouraged members to remain peaceful and focused throughout the electoral process.

Observers noted that the impressive turnout demonstrated the confidence many residents have in Gbadebo Taiwo Ismail and his vision for inclusive grassroots leadership.

Supporters also used the occasion to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the party's structure across the ward ahead of the election.
