The Political Head of Aare Latosa Local Council Development Area (LCDA) and Vice Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Ayoade Akeem, has commemorated the second anniversary of the passing of the late former member of the House of Representatives, in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi, popularly known as Jagaban, with a series of humanitarian and community development initiatives.

The remembrance programme, held today, at the council registry in Ibadan North, featured the empowerment of over 100 widows, the donation of a generator set to the Ire-Akari community in Ward 02, and the unveiling of a memorial billboard in honour of the late lawmaker at Ojurin, Bodija Market.

Speaking during the event, Hon. Ayoade who was duly represented by the Ag. Head of Local Government Administration, Dr Sunday Adesoye Idowu said the initiatives were designed to preserve the enduring legacy of Prince Akinremi Jagaban, whose life, he noted, was defined by selfless service, compassion for the less privileged, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.

According to him, empowering widows reflects the values the late federal lawmaker stood for throughout his public service, stressing that supporting vulnerable members of society remains one of the most meaningful ways to immortalise his memory.

As part of the commemoration, the vice chairman presented empowerment packages to more than 100 widows drawn from different communities, urging beneficiaries to remain hopeful and continue contributing positively to society.

In addition, Hon. Ayoade donated a generator set to the Ire-Akari community in Ward 02, to provide electricity for the community's motorized borehole, a gesture expected to improve residents' access to clean and potable water.

He noted that the intervention would ease the burden of water supply on the community and further enhance the welfare of residents.

The event also witnessed the unveiling of a memorial billboard strategically erected at Ojurin, Bodija Market, in honour of the late Prince Musiliudeen Olaide Akinremi Jagaban, serving as a lasting tribute to his remarkable contributions to humanity and the development of Ibadan North Federal Constituency.

Earlier in her remarks, the Director of Education and Social Services, Mrs Comfort Aremu urged all beneficiaries to continue to support the present administration in all aspects as more dividends come their way 

Community leaders, party faithful, supporters, and residents who attended the event commended Hon. Ayoade Akeem for sustaining the ideals and legacy of the late lawmaker through impactful programmes that directly benefit the people.

Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban is widely remembered for his commitment to quality representation, community development, and numerous empowerment initiatives that touched the lives of thousands during his tenure in the House of Representatives. Two years after his passing, his legacy continues to inspire leaders and constituents alike.
