The declaration, attended by party leaders, stakeholders, women, youths, traditional opinion leaders and supporters, turned into a celebration of grassroots leadership and people-centred governance, with beneficiaries also receiving various empowerment packages aimed at improving their livelihoods.

Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Hon. Moonlight said his decision to seek another mandate was inspired by the need to consolidate on the achievements of his first tenure and deepen the delivery of democratic dividends to every part of Ward 12.

He maintained that leadership is not about occupying a position but about creating lasting value in the lives of the people, assuring residents that a second term would bring expanded empowerment programmes, greater youth and women inclusion, stronger community engagement and more developmental projects.

According to him, his style of leadership has been shaped by the people-oriented governance of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, whose administration has continued to redefine governance in Oyo State through impactful infrastructure, education, healthcare and economic initiatives.

Hon. Moonlight also praised the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade (Onala), describing him as a visionary grassroots administrator whose developmental initiatives have positively impacted communities across the local government.

In a resounding vote of confidence, the Ward 12 councillor publicly endorsed Hon. Olufade for a second term in office, urging party members and residents to support the council chairman's re-election bid to ensure continuity in the developmental agenda already being enjoyed across Ibadan North Local Government.

He stressed that sustaining the progress recorded by the present administration would require continuity in leadership, noting that both the council and the wards would benefit from a renewed mandate to build on existing achievements.

The declaration ceremony also featured a well-received empowerment programme during which numerous party members, women, widows, youths and other residents received various forms of support. The initiative drew commendation from attendees, many of whom described it as another demonstration of Hon. Moonlight's commitment to responsive and compassionate leadership.

Several party leaders and stakeholders who spoke at the event applauded the councillor for his accessibility, humility and unwavering dedication to grassroots development. They expressed optimism that his return for another term would accelerate development and strengthen representation in Ward 12.

With his formal declaration and endorsement of Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade's second-term ambition, Hon. Sulaiman Ajao Morenigbola has further energized supporters of the Allied Peoples'Movement (APM) ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
