Commends Security Agencies, Congratulates Rescued Victims, Calls for Sustained Collaboration to Secure Oyo State

The Oyo State League of Local Government PDP/APM Chairmen, led by its Chairman of Chairmen, Mogaji Femi Falowo, has applauded the successful rescue of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area, describing the development as a remarkable victory for humanity and a testament to what purposeful leadership and coordinated security efforts can achieve.

In a statement issued on behalf of the League, the Chairmen expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for preserving the lives of the victims and reuniting them with their families after weeks of uncertainty, anxiety and fervent prayers across Oyo State and the nation.

The League specially commended the Governor of Oyo State and Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his composed and responsible handling of the security challenge. According to the statement, the Governor demonstrated exceptional leadership by allowing professionalism, intelligence and inter-governmental cooperation to guide the rescue operation instead of politicising a matter involving innocent lives.

The Chairmen noted that the Governor's unwavering commitment to the safety of the victims, coupled with his collaboration with the Federal Government and relevant security institutions, created the enabling environment for a successful outcome.

"The release of these innocent children and their teachers is a victory that belongs to every resident of Oyo State. It reminds us that when leaders place the welfare of the people above personal or political interests, positive results are achievable. Governor Seyi Makinde's calm disposition throughout this difficult period reflects the qualities of a leader who understands the enormous responsibility of protecting lives," the statement said.

The League also paid glowing tribute to members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local vigilante groups, intelligence personnel and every security operative who participated in the rescue mission. Their professionalism, sacrifice and courage, the statement noted, deserve the appreciation of all Nigerians.

While rejoicing with the rescued victims, their parents, teachers and the entire Oriire community, the Chairmen also remembered those who lost their lives during the unfortunate incident. They prayed that Almighty God would grant them eternal rest and comfort the families they left behind.

The League described the successful rescue as an important lesson for governments and stakeholders at every level, stressing that security challenges are best addressed through unity of purpose, timely intelligence, strategic planning and cooperation rather than unnecessary public grandstanding.

It further called for sustained investment in community-based security initiatives, improved intelligence gathering and stronger partnerships among security agencies to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Drawing inspiration from the name Oriire, which signifies good fortune and a favourable destiny, the League expressed optimism that the successful rescue represents not only the restoration of hope to affected families but also a positive signal for the continued progress of Oyo State under responsible leadership.

The Chairmen urged residents of the state to remain law-abiding, support security agencies with useful information and continue to pray for lasting peace, stability and development across all communities.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the League's commitment to supporting every genuine initiative that promotes good governance, protects lives and strengthens public confidence in democratic leadership.
